Vintage Sterling Silver Amunet Pendant 1970s Navajo

This striking vintage pendant, likely a commissioned piece from the 1970s, showcases a unique blend of Southwestern artistry and ancient Egyptian inspiration. Handcrafted, most likely by a Navajo artist, the pendant features a central rectangular inlay of resin depicting a stylized Egyptian figure of Amunet, readily identifiable by her distinctive duck/goose feather headdress. Amunet was an important primordial goddess in Egyptian mythology.

The pendant measures 1 3/4 tall by 1 1/8 wide and tests as sterling silver, though it is not marked. The silverwork surrounding the inlay is beautifully detailed with swirling, organic forms and interspersed silver beads, creating a frame that complements the central motif.
