This is a really nice example of a late 1800's to early 1900's Slug Box sad iron. This piece is solid brass except for the original wood handle grip. It features a working door that was lifted to insert a hot slug to heat the brass to iron fabric. This piece measures 5 x 4 1/4 x 3 and is in very good condition for being over 100 years old. Excellent for the antique collector. I found online elswhere for 96 before shipping.
