A handmade ornamental set made by the award-winning Tenmoku Pottery company in Malaysia. The set consists of a teapot and 5 tea bowls. The olive-green glazed background has decorative tactile embossed panels with a leaf design in a sgraffito style. The teapot has an interesting natural bamboo handle. The company dedicates itself to bringing back the essence of nature to our daily lives. The natural colours and textures used in each Tenmoku masterpiece tells a special story of its own.
The Japanese term Tenmoku refers to both a form of pottery and style of glaze, which emulates the ancient Chinese stoneware from the Song Dynasty (1127-1279) called Jian Ware. It is centred on the rituals of the Japanese matcha tea ceremony known as chanoyu.
