This is an Antique Cheese and Butter Core Sampling Tool!
Since when have you seen another like it ?!?
This vintage tool measure around 10.5 and was used to extract a sample from the center of a cheese wheel or block of butter to ensure quality of the product. Neat, huh?
Nice patina on wood and metal. The metal ring slides nicely, and is used to push the sample off the tube. The end of the tube is manufactured with a small crimp to make sure the ring does not slide off.
Can you imagine adding this to your collection of antiques and stumping your guests as to the purpose of the item?
