Antique, hand painted, 19th century British art glass bride's basket with ruffled rim in brilliant pistachio green and deep oxblood red colored glass. Originally this basket would have had a silver stand. These bride's baskets had many uses including holding flower petals for the flower girl to scatter, or as a table top display for the bride's bouquet during the reception as well as also being used to bestow gifts to the bride during wedding ceremonies often functioning as the centerpiece. The glass basket looks beautiful as a stand alone piece, the colors are so vibrant and eye catching! Excellent condition. No visible flaws. See photos for more details.
