The name Xendless Xurbia is thought to come from Endless Suburbia , an idea that the band toyed with during the In Rainbows era, seeming to represent the oblivious sheep-like nature of the general population, and the loss of individuality. This idea can be seen in some of the artwork that Stanley Donwood produced for In Rainbows Disk 2, featuring rows upon rows of identical houses in black and white. The symbol of the houses is similar to the idea behind Down Is the New Up, with the down arrow drawn inside the up arrow to make up a crude house.
