Asian style Decorative Porcelain Bowl from late 1800s Imported in NYC. Condition is Used. Gilman Collamore & Co in Manhattan was a high-end store around 1871-1888. They were American exporters specializing in porcelain and china wares from Europe. This piece has the mark indicating it was produced by Samson of Paris which was founded in 1845 by Edme Samson. The firm specialized in producing good quality copies of porcelain pieces in museums and renown private collections. The raised areas on the surface which is hand applied enamel is of Japanese design origin. There is one small chip in the gold enamel rim.
