This is a modelled crafted stoneware from the 1950s. It was made by Tremar Pottery which was set up in Cornwall in the 1960s by Roger and Doreen Birkett.
For the first few years they made hand thrown domestic ware which catered to a tourist market, and by the 1970s it was being produced from 3 sites. By then they were creating animal figurines, people, boats, mini cottages and buildings which are now highly collectible. The pottery closed in the early 1980s.
Not all Tremar pottery was marked.
