Great studios flourished and so much creativity went into crafting stories that were alternately cinematic fantasies, historic documentation of grim realities like the first World War and charming tales of daily life and romances. The holiday cards are particularly colorful and lovely.! It is interesting the way these postcards celebrated all the diverse cities and cultures of France. These were a unifying element in a time before television or even wide diffusion of radio. Rarest of all in this period are the handmade cards. I believe the states to 1915 as others I found by the artist had that date. Perfect for framing as decor!
