Vtg 30s 40s~Wiking-Modell~TS Windhuk~WW2 German Navy Ship 1:1250 Metal Lead Base. Please see photos to better understand condition of this 80-90 year old piece. I don't believe there are any pices missing but you will notice some bent wires. TS Windhuk had a sister ship named TS Pretoria. You will notice the bottom of the ship is stamped Pretoria/Windhuk.
This ship started off as a cruise liner but was requisitioned by Nazi Germany for WW2. Short story is the ship ended up in the hands of the Brazilian government in 1942 who then turned it over to the US government. The ship became the USS Lejeune and seved until 1948. She was scrapped in Portland, Oregon in 1966.
The Wiking-Modell company made these same type of toy models for the German military during WWII. They were used on military planning tables/maps to show location and movement of troops and equipment. Given the ship's history it's highly unlikey this was one of those pieces but the maker and time period are correct.
