This is a VINTAGE 1950 Era BRAKEMAN HAND HELD LANTERN USED TO SIGNAL, OR WALK THE LINE
IT HAS TWO BULBS-ONE FOR SIGNALING, ONE TO ALERT OTHER WORKERS WHERE YOU ARE
MOST OF THESE LANTERNS HAD NO MARKING
THE HANDLE PULLS DOWN AND LANTERN IS ALL METAL, THERE IS ALSO A PLACE FOR SPARE BULB ( SEE PICTURES)
THIS LANTERN HAS A VERY NICE RUSTIC PATINA, WHICH SHOWS ITS AGE AND WEAR
USES ONE 6 VOLT BATTERY
THIS LANTERN WAS USED ON THE NEW HAVEN SPRINGFIELD LINE
