Late 1800s Ridgway Indus transferware monochromatic pattern platter in black on white background. This large platter decorated with a heron and pagoda in the scene is a rare find and oh so beautiful. Has a few light scratches, no crazing, chips or cracks yet it’s not perfect keeping in mind its age.
This Victorian aesthetic plate is transfer printed in black against a white background.
The pattern features some of the most outrageous looking birds the pottery artist could imagine. A rim of wildly tropical flowers with hummingbirds. An ornate pagoda sits in the background in the well of the platter with Heron perched upon a rise.
