The scent’s heart consists of opoponax, benzoin, and incense. Notes of vanilla rounds out the perfume’s base, followed by notes of sandalwood, amber, musk, and cedar.Caron is a French perfume house with a legendary reputation. Founded in 1904 by Ernest Daltroff, the company has become one of the industry’s most beloved houses. With only a love for perfume and no formal training, Daltroff crafted perfumes with his muse, Felicie Wanpouille, as the artistic director. It is rumored that Daltroff was smitten by the former dressmaker, but never actually declared his love to her. During World War Ii, Daltroff fled to America in order to escape religious persecution, and left all of Caron in the hands of Wanpouille, who continued the company until it was purchased in 1998 by Patrick Alès.
