Fish venting tools are a must have for bottom fishing in order to vent a bloated fish. Rapid ascent can cause a fishes air bladder to balloon which prevents the fish from swimming back to upon release. This Fish Venting Tool from Anglers Choice features a no clog vent needle, no slip grip and safety storage cap. Made In The USA
USE: Insert needle into fish at a 45º angle approximately 1-2" behind the base of the pectoral fin. Insert the tip just deep enough to release gases but not damage the internal organs... escaping gas in audible and deflation is noticeable. Slight pressure on the fish abdomen may help. Never puncture guts. Always revive fish in the water with a forward flow of water in the mouth and over the gills.
