Antique hand-painted milk glass humidor jar. One side features 2 boys playing, with the German word "SPIELING" underneath them. The other side features a tobacco pipe. I believe the lid is silverplate, but there are no markings to support that. Unfortunately, I do not think this lid is original to the jar. Not only is the inside rim of the lid too small for the inside of the jar, but the jar has a lip where the lid should sit, and this lid sits along the rim of the jar instead. It also has a dent on one side. There are some tiny nicks along the inside rim of the jar, but no chips or cracks! Some wear to the paint from age and use. The jar (by itself) measures approximately 4 3/4" wide (at the widest point), and 4 1/4" tall. The jar's opening is approx 3 3/8" wide, while the inside rim of the lid measures approximately 3" wide.
