Cast iron construction with bronze and lead at seal area. Indented body press with star. Marked Geo. J. Mayer, Maker, Indianapolis. Historic and possibly unique. Probably not related to the Indiana & Ohio Railway but your knowledge would likely be better than my opinion.
Works as expected. Some of the original black, red and gold painted finish is gone, but quite a bit remains. Light rust and pitting may exist on exposed surfaces. About 11" tall with handle in upright position and about 7" tall when handle is down. About 6-1/4" long at base and about 2-1/8" wide at base. Makes a company seal impression that is about 1-3/4" in diameter. Item weighs just over 5 pounds.
