Up for sale is a New Haven Clock Company mantel clock, likely dating from 1890–1915, based on the oak pressed-wood case design and dial markings. This estate-sale find measures approximately 23" tall × 14 ¾" wide × 4 ½" deep and weighs about 7 lbs prior to packaging.
The clock includes its winding key and currently runs and ticks (see video). It took some careful leveling and adjustment to keep the pendulum swinging, so it likely needs a proper cleaning and oiling to run at its best. It is designed to gong once on the half hour and count the hour on the hour, but the chime sequence could use adjustment — we’ll leave that fine-tuning to the new owner.
The clock shows typical wear consistent with age but is in overall good shape for its 100+ years. The oak case retains its pressed decorative details, and the glass with gold stencil is intact.
Due to its size, this will require a large, well-packed shipment to ensure safe arrival.
