Gorgeous antique Satsuma Biscuit Jar. This was made during the Meiji period. This bowl is handpainted in a geisha and floral pattern. It has a Moriage finish and lots of gold gilts. It has the signature crackle finish and reds, orange, blues & greens of Satsuma pottery.A great collector's piece, marvelous dining or buffet table topper. A wonderful addition to Japanese collection.

Satsuma is a Japanese pottery with a distinctive creamy beige crackled glaze. Almost all Satsuma found today was made after 1860, especially during the Meiji Period, 1868-1912.
