Antique or Vintage Brown Stoneware.
Early McCoy Vines Grapes Milk Pitcher with Lattice Pattern.
It may be marked as Brush McCOY, North Star or Zanesville OH with the raised star at the bottom.
The Pitcher has a nice patina and is albany glaze - darker brown color
Many stoneware manufacturers, such as Brush McCOY, North Star of Red Wing in MN., Zanesville in OH,
and UHL in Indiana included the star in their marks.

This pitcher is not a Red Wing North Star pitcher. All Red Wing stoneware is very well documented and this piece is one of the most commonly mis-identified pieces because of the star on the bottom. This star is smaller than any of the markings used by the North Star pottery and was commonly used by at least two other potteries, Brush-McCoy and Robinson-Ransbottom, both in Roseville, Ohio. This pitcher has been identified as being a Brush McCoy piece. On page 66 of Red Wing Potters & Their Wares,
