Handmade 粗陶 Chinaware Purple Pea Flower Motif Octagon Shape Moonwhite Plate New, never used.
Diameter of the octagon is 19 centimeters/7.5 inches.
This is handcrafted by a Couple who are both alumni of 中國美術學院/China Academy of Arts in Hangzhou杭州。 The husband is a ceramic artist, his wife is a the artist who created & painted this Narcissus Flowers & Butterfly motif, One of A Kind Piece.
The color of glaze is called 月光白/Moon white glaze, Naturally derived from plants ashes mixing with water and then sifted through a fine net. No toxic chemicals, safe to use. The clay used is called 紫砂土， purple sand clay, heavier than most ceramic clay. The texture is 粗陶，which intentionally leaving some grains of sand, so you can see it is not smooth on the surface. This is part of the design. If you don’t like this uneven & grainy texture, DON’T BUY IT.
The bottom bears the calligraphy of their Studio name “尘”， literally dirt or small piece of earth.
