ABOUT FRANK MAESSIG: Frank Maessig was born in Chemnitz in 1955. In 1979 Maessig, after several applications to leave the country, escaped from the republic and was imprisoned by the Stasi, was expatriated to the Federal Republic of Germany and has been living in Giessen ever since. Frank Maessig has been intensively involved with painting for many years. His graphic editions, primarily screen prints, appear at regular intervals and always in small editions.
