Original 1905 New London CT Steamship Mohawk Fire Sinking Cargo Ship Claim Document. The signed insurance document is sent a few months after the tragic fire and explosion sand the Steamer Mohawk and cargo valued at almost twice the amount of the actual steamer. The insurance correspondence is signed and sets guidance for the cargo claims and ownership rights. If you hold the document paper up the the light you can see an embedded 1903 Japanese bird (crane) within the linnen paper that is fantastic. What a great piece of nautical and maritime history.
