This book is from a collection in Front Royal, VA and came from the personal library of Bernard Samuels who is from Warren County (Front Royal) VA - Mr. Samuels was a prominent DR and donated the building that currently houses the Front Royal, VA library - 'Samuels Public Library'.

This book was gifted to Dr. Samuels mother and has an original hand written note from the man (soldier, John J Johnson) who gifted it to her. According to Bernard Samuels note underneath the original note, the solider passed away.

The solider is believed to be buried at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, VA and was listed on roster from Company D - the "Warren Blues" (no notes on his service so he likely survived the war).

Condition - This books shows some signs of age. Page discoloration, missing part of spine cover, binding damage. Front cover is intact but very fragile. Pages seem to be fully intact. A personal library sticker can be found of the inside cover.
