Hall effect joysticks are joysticks that use magnets and sensors instead of physical contacts (potentiometers) to detect movement.
How Hall Effect Joysticks Work
They use Hall effect sensors (which measure magnetic fields).
A magnet is attached to the joystick shaft, and as you move the stick, the sensor reads the magnetic field changes.
No physical friction → almost no wear.
