“Beginning in the 1860s, Christian Dorflinger transformed White Mills, PA from a sleepy hamlet on the banks of the Lackawaxen River into a bustling industrial center. For more than half a century the Dorflinger Glass Works produced exquisite cut lead crystal that graced many of America’s finest tables, including those of several White House administrations.”

“The "Kalana" line was introduced by Dorflinger in 1918 and was acid-etched rather than engraved. Since the factory closed in 1919, it wasn't made for long. All of the designs are floral and in style they are in the art nouveau time and very different from Dorflinger's other glass.”
