This is a sharp pencil made by Kobo Setsugi, featuring Karelian birch burl.
There are various types of Karelian birch, and this pencil uses the highly valuable burl grain.
While Karelian birch often only displays tiger stripe patterns, the burl grain is very rare.
Furthermore, it is an excellent wood, and its sufficient hardness means it won't dent even with a little rough handling.
There are no visible scratches on the wooden shaft, but please check the photos as this is based on a layman's perspective.
