The Shure QLXD4=-H50 is a UHF digital wireless receiver in a half rack format, designed for the H50 band that spans 534 to 598 MHz. It gives audio engineers a straightforward, dependable way to bring high quality wireless audio into venues where every channel counts and setup time is limited.
Audio is converted and transmitted at 24 bit, 48 kHz, preserving detail while keeping latency below 2.9 ms. Vocalists, presenters, and instrumentalists hear and feel their performance in real time, a benefit that becomes obvious when in-ear monitors are part of the system.
The receiver offers 64 MHz of tuning range and 2560 selectable frequencies. Digital Predictive Switching Diversity constantly evaluates the incoming signal and moves to the stronger antenna path before dropouts can be heard, allowing up to 60 compatible systems to operate in the same location without manual RF micro-management.
AES 256 bit encryption protects the audio when confidentiality matters, such as during corporate keynotes, television broadcasts, or government events. Only transmitters that share the same encryption key can decode the signal, so unauthorized listeners stay locked out.
Daily operation stays simple. Automatic frequency scanning finds open spectrum, and IR sync pushes settings to the transmitter with a single button press. An LCD on the front panel shows audio and RF meters, while dedicated controls let you adjust gain and engage a peak limiter without digging through deep menus. Rear panel connectors provide balanced XLR and 1/4 inch outputs with switchable mic or line level, so the QLXD4 integrates easily with mixing consoles and recording interfaces.
For larger networks, the built-in Ethernet port allows monitoring and control through Shure Wireless Workbench software or the ShurePlus Channels mobile app. This is useful when racks sit offstage or in a control room and the engineer needs real time oversight from another position.
Because of its combination of sound quality, spectrum efficiency, and secure transmission, the QLXD4=-H50 fits naturally in touring rigs, houses of worship, televised award shows, lecture halls, and corporate boardrooms where a failure is not an option.
