Sinclair Lewis's Main Street original edition

This beautiful classic from 1920, as shown from the cover inscription, is in very good condition. It shows minimal signs of typical wear aside from one page having been folded, and the original blue cover cloth looks more blue-green in person. As far as I can tell, it is first edition, first print, second issue (battered "4" on p54 and "y" on p387).

Main Street is considered a seminal American classic as a satire of small-town American life around the turn of the century. Set in a fictionalized version of his hometown, it is one of Lewis's earlier and more notable works, becoming immensely popular when it was first printed. This, along with Babbitt, helped him become the first American to win a Nobel Prize in Literature.
