First edition (print number not stated) hardcover copy of The Book of the Cave Guiarisankarguha by Sri Ananda Acharya (Macmillan & Company, 1919). Very rare antique Indian Hindu spirituality / mystical book written in poetic prose, with allegory and lyrical flourishes. A spiritual predecessor of sorts to Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist but with the message and religious teachings of Hinduism as a guide. Some wear and slightly discolored areas to boards and with corners bumped. Binding is split in a few gutters but spine is straight and binding remains fairly strong on the whole. Heavy and uneven tanning to first and last few pages. Small “NET” stamp to front endpaper. Some liquid staining to outer edges and near gutter of some pages. See photos for condition.
