The spells, ingredients and names for many things in present day practice in the United States, have come from the tradition o magic brought to the new world by the African slave.
The religious aspects of voodoo as practiced in the islands of the West Indies, have filtered out and only the magic and sorcery of its metaphysical side were kept.
The spells of the old New Orleans Tradition have, therefore, become almost standard American "Derigeur" and are widely sold through most Occult supply shops in this country. This book describes the spells and the materials used in these spells.
