Popular for glittered and embellished shift dresses in the 1960’s and 1970’s, Malcolm Starr was a brand synonymous with trendy glamor. The brand did not have a singular designer behind it but the styles offered over its had a cohesive look over its decade on the ready to wear scene. Some designers that worked for the brand were Youssef Rizkallah, from 1969 to 1975 and Elinor Simmons, who contributed designs from the early 1960’s to 1972.
