Vintage LE Smith 20.5” Large Aqua Peacock Blue Swung Glass Vase Stretch Vase Mid Century Modern. This is a large swung vase measuring 20.5” tall. This vase was made in the USA in the 1960's by LE Smith Glass. The glass color is a turquoise blue or "peacock blue". This piece was blown and then hand-shaped to form the wavy like mouth. The term swung specifically describes the process where a glassblower swings the molten glass back and forth like a pendulum after it has been removed from the mold, stretching and shaping the glass as it cools. This results in a unique, one-of-a-kind piece with a distinct, free-flowing form. The base is smooth and sometimes referred to as a "smooth butt". The pontil mark on the base was ground flat and smooth. The vase measures approximately 5.5”at the widest and stands 20.5” tall. It is in good vintage condition consistent with its age and use.
