Hummel #141/I, Apple Tree Girl , TMK5 w/Bird
This 6” Hummel figurine is in beautiful condition. It bears TMK #5 having been produced Circa 1969-1979. No chips, repairs, or marks, but light crazing on the left top which is not unusual for its age. Otherwise it is in MINT condition .
Sister Maria had a love of children, and a whimsical nature sketching them in various situations. This precious ‘Apple Tree Girl’ Hummel figurine was created by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1940 from one of Sister Maria’s drawings.
The young girl wears a blue skirt and red babushka and is perched on the bow of a tree producing flowers in the Spring and has a little blue bird on the top branch (only in certain versions). This charming, kindred little girl sits quietly for a rest upon the orchard apple tree in the Spring smelling the fragrant flowers with the company of the blue bird!
