Rare FOSSIL and MINERAL.This is a Great Fossil Specimen of a Mercenaria permagna clam from the Pliocene Era (about 1.5 - 3 million years old), from Rucks Pit, Florida. The main clam shell is large, very well defined and loaded with fluorescent, amber colored calcite. Attached to the side is a cluster of shells in matrix that have been completely replaced by calcite. There is even a imprint of a shell on the top of the matrix cluster. It's a stunning fossil addition to any collection! This quality is getting harder and harder to find.
