This extremely rare vintage Waltham Chronometer Automatic watch is looking for a new home and owner!
Cosmetically, the watch is in good condition for being over 60 years old. The case is 20 micron gold electroplated and has held up very well with seemingly no plating loss. Comes with a Kreisler leather band which is in fair condition. The crystal is in good shape as well with very minor micro-scratches that can easily be buffed out. This gold case and orange dial combo is really hard to come by!
Mechanically, the movement is very strong and beating very healthily. It's actually quite amazing how clearly you can hear the ticking. However, the watch is running a little fast. It would be recommended to get it serviced. Regardless, it is a testament to the brand that it is beating this strong well into retirement age.
No box or papers included. Current leather band will fit wrists up to 7.75 inches.
