This is a lovely replica of a Roman Trulla, specifically a reproduction made by Gorham for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A trulla is a type of ladle or scoop from the Roman Republic era, around the first century BC.
Originally, trullas were used by Romans for serving liquids, similar to a ladle or scoop.
This replica piece is a reproduction by Gorham, created for the Met as part of their tableware collection. The design is based on artifacts from the Roman Republic, around the first century BC. The replica is made of silver plate.
Open to reasonable offers. Comes exactly as pictured. This is in used/preowned condition. See pictures for details.
