From the 1950s, so this is at a minimum 61 years-old! Built when such items were meant to last a lifetime and beyond. If you spend 250 or less on a bino today, they are considered disposable optics.
Incredibly well built, this set needed a good internal cleaning and lube job. While out, I blacked the sides of all four prisms. Such a custom touch slightly increases brightness and contrast. Views are now as good, if not a bit better, than when brand new.
Focuser and right eye diopter lubed. They were nearly frozen. As were the deep set, black plastic eye cups. When screwed off views really open up! Like two different binos in one. It is how most of us use such classic Vin Bins. They work great for star gazing.
Case in good shape for its age. Even has its carry strap. Those usually dry rot and fall off. Both could use a conditioning. I did it to the bin's original leather carry strap. Also shortened it so the optic rides higher. Less chance of a bin bashing swing that way.
