Handmade Metal Birdhouse

Just designed and built a handful of birdhouses to try and hone some metalworking skills. I’ve read that the only real downside to metal birdhouses is the heat factor if placed in direct scorching sunlight. Just be sure to place in an environment with plenty of shade. I also left these vented. The upside is this birdhouse will last decades and never rot away. Heirloom quality. Will also do a better job keeping hatchlings safe from predators as they will not be able to chew through the steel. There is a solid brass eagle riveted within the copper perch. The floor board is easy to remove and replace when the time comes to clean out abandoned nests or what have you. There are a couple coats of Oil based metallic urethane for a UV / moisture protected rustic paint job. I embraced the drips. I was more concerned with watertight rivets and a good rust prevention.
