Antique PAT. 1869 S. Spoor's Wood Stove Store Cast Iron Kettle Troy New York USA

Antique cast iron woodstove / wood stove teapot or kettle. The lid is marked S. Spoor's. PAT. 1869 0-25, kettle is marked Troy N.Y. Has a hand forged handle. It is coated black japanning or paint on the outside. Inside is dirty with water stains. The mark is for Stephan Spoor's Stove Furniture and was made by the Foxell & Jones foundry in Troy NY. The lid has three holes, I do not know if it was for venting or a handle, but the very few I seen when researching had the same holes. Size from spout end to pot back is 9 1/2 x 7 wide x 6 1/2 tall. It weighs 5 pounds 4 ounces. Small chip or factory imperfection on the edge of the lid rim see last photo .
