I had recently finished this painting a couple of months ago. It was my first piece after a long hiatus, where I had spent most of my time fonding over movies and video games (the classics of course). This piece is predominantly figurative in summary of that time, where I had resonated with qualities in fictional characters more than those I had surrounded myself with over a dark time of my life. This piece was not made to be complex in compositional fundamentals, as I had wanted to ease my way back into my love, my life, of painting.
I had entitled this piece as, Parasocial , as I thought the name was as beautiful as I had thought it to be fitting. It was finished with Winsor & Newton oils, on (14 x 17 ) Bristol board paper. Though it is on paper as a surface, it is great in durability and meant to last, otherwise I would have never trusted it incorporated in my process.
