Offered for sale is a rare antique Chinese Reverse Painted Peking glass Snuff Bottle.
Item is in excellent condition with no visible damage to the Chinese glass snuff bottle.
Chinese Snuff Bottle is complete without any chips, injuries or losses and is complete with gemstone cap and spoon that appears to be ivory inside. The overall appearance displays stunning workmanship ~~and a true work of art.The snuff bottle is painted inside on both sides. Chinese snuff bottles are a relatively recent development. Tobacco reached China toward the end of the 16th Century AD, and it seems likely that snuff was available by the mid-seventeenth century. Customs records show that by 1685 snuff was entering China, although it could have been used even earlier. Using snuff was largely a habit of the upper classes.
