This is an antique, 19th century, English sauce/gravy ladle, sterling silver (60g) from the estate of Marion Dixon Zaring, a Chicago socialite from the early 1900's. The ladle is done in a classical form with a downward turn to the terminal of the handle and a pip/rib on the back. There is a wonderfully interesting engraving of a pair of wings and a turkey on the front of the ladle. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter P, and a WC maker's mark.
This piece is about 7 inches long.
