Melanin acts as nature’s sunscreen protecting the eye from the effect of blue light. Mela-Lens absorbs light seamlessly over a broad spectral range providing blue light filtration with minimal color distortion, and 100% UVA/B protection. Because ultra violet light is absorbed more than blue light and blue light more than green light, contrast is improved and vision details are sharpened. One of the most important differentiators is that blue light is filtered, not blocked (like the blue blocking sun lenses of the past) so color balance is maintained.
