All of todays coins and banknotes feature the motto In God We Trust but at one time, the motto was not included in the designs. The Series of 1935 1 Silver Certificates was America's last bank note without the motto In God We Trust. When the design change was made with the addition of the motto on the back, the series date was changed to the Series of 1957. However, a small number of Series of 1935 notes were made in 1961 with the motto. It is not clear whether this was a mistake on the U.S. Treasury's part but what is clear is that the Series of 1935 1 Silver Certificate with the motto is exceptionally scarce. This set includes a series 1935 One Dollar Silver Certificate without the motto, and one with the motto. This historical collection also includes a Valley Forge Issue 1928 2-cent Washington at Prayer stamp (May 26, 1928) and the American Credo Series 1960-61 4-cent Francis Scott Key stamp (September 14, 1960). The entire collection comes in a four page vinyl folio.
