Goebel Tommy touchdown Hummel figurine Mint condition 1977 German
Goebel Co Boy Tommy Touchdown Football Gnome Porcelain 17530-13 Mint 1977. Marked W. Germany on bottom.
In order to market the Co-Boys, Goebel created a fictional back story. The Gnomes live in Coburg, Germany. The fictional story is that the Coburg residents forgot how to laugh. One day, a resident came up with the bright idea of resurrecting a long forgotten world of gnomes who lived in the area. It is not clear why this revelation caused people to laugh again, but it did. Or, at least, so the story goes. The Co-Boys represent city inhabitants, primarily focused on occupation. Goebel produced its Co-Boys between 1971 and 1987. Produced by Goebel in West Germany. Would fit in nicely to your collection of gnomes, elves and fairy realm collection.
-- Condition - No chips, cracks or loss of color.
-- Size - Measures 5.5" high x 7" long x 4" wide.
