This is a very old pair of Japanese monpe (work pants) from the Meiji era, according to the seller.
While most examples of this type of clothing are small due to the historical context, this pair is unusually large.
The waist can be adjusted from 78 to 82 cm with buttons, and the total length of approximately 100 cm is also very long for this type of item.
The beautiful boro (patched fabric) is made of indigo-dyed cloth with varying thicknesses and patterns, and has been repaired many times. I remember being very happy when I found it.
This is a one-of-a-kind antique that you should choose based on your own feeling.
