Bloodstone is a variety of opaque chalcedony with a hardness of 6.5 to 7. It is dark green with red spots and blotches. Deposits have been found in India, China, Brazil, Australia and the USA.
Bloodstone is associated with the Earth element and the root chakra. It is considered a purification stone and is said to offer courage, solace, strength, courage and vitality. This bloodstone pendant is wrapped in Argentium silver, which is higher in purity of silver content than sterling. This makes for increased tarnish resistance, a whiter color, antibacterial and hypoallergenic properties and a firestain-free surface.
