Vintage Handmade Guatemalan Faja (belt) Circa Late 70’s Early 80’s 4”x56”
Original handmade woven faja from Guatemala. Although this one is shorter than most fajas, this could also be used to embellish straw hats but definitely fits nicely around a small waist (see picture). Purchased in the area street markets when we lived there from 75 through early 80’s
Fabrics are single owner pieces that have been stored for many years with great ideas of using them or displaying them but have just been stored away in a closet for years.
This is a very old fabric with obvious color discoloration, fabric yellowing or stains and condition consistent with the age of the fabric. Some snags and seams loosening up. Unsure if this is something that can be corrected. Additionally, the fabric has a “stored” smell and probably would benefit from professional cleaning and treatment. Sold as is.
