This is a vase made from a calophyllum tree log. It is with hand held carving tools while spinning on a lathe. It it 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It has a beautiful shape, natural color and attractive grain figure. It can be displayed as is or with added dried flowers.
I use logs from trees felled for various reasons. By making decorative pieces I am recycling the wood. It is a combination of the art of nature and the nature of the artist.
