Antique 1837 receipt / certificate for payment of 2 to the Volunteer Company of Mechanic Rifle attached to the First Division of the Pennsylvania Militia. This excluded that person from any other military service. It was signed by the Captain of the Company on April 1, 1837. The paper measures approximately 8 x 5 .
